MU system, without considering its electrical function and concentrating on its mechanical configuration, is a combination of:
- Receptacles with 27 pins -Male;
- Plug (Jumper) with 27 female connectors;
- 27 string of wire No. 14 and No. 12.
By using this system, locomotive engineers control more than one locomotive through the cabinet that they are located in.
